Making it Right
A mistake was made and Voldemort didn’t die during the final battle. This spells the beginning of the end for Harry, who ends it all five years later in a magical explosion that sends his spirit back exactly ten years. See a/n in prologue for more info.
The Master of Life
Set immediately after the final battle, Harry begins to adjust to a life without Voldemort and with Ginny. Intrigue in the Ministry of magic and public knowledge of his possession of the Elder Wand make life anything but "happily ever after". ABANDONED

... but I don't have writer's block. You have to actually try to write something to get that. So I can safely say that I don't have any kind of
block to my writing. Just living life and spending my daily allotment of waking hours doing what matters most. Unfortunately, writing of any sort hasn't been on the list of what matters
for a number of months. If it ever does make it, you'll know on this website.
Thanks,

Story Update
Mr. Intel posted on Thursday 9th October 2008 3:32am
With two new WIP stories in the works, I thought I'd let you know what is happening with them. Up until I posted chapter two of "Making it Right", I had been posting every week for "The
Master of Life". Last week, I posted chapter three of MiR, but nothing for TMoL. That's because I only have an hours or so of writing time every day and last week, MiR got the bulk of
that time. Since then, I've made an effort to spend equal time with both stories, which worked out nicely this week. Unfortunately, that means that I probably won't be posting anything
this week. The upshot is that next week, if all goes well, I'll be able to post two chapters. We'll just have to see how the muse plays out.
As a side note, I've been checking the stats for these two stories every couple of weeks, and I noticed a few interesting things about them. I'll post the information in another news article,
or on my forum later. For now, I just wanted to say that FFA has given my stories the most reads and the most reviews of the four sites I post my stories to. Thanks. :-)
Poking my head back in

As you may have noticed, I've been posting more stories. Like I mentioned in my "Bowing Out" post, I reserved the right to write more HP stuff. Well... I am. ;-)
Master of Life is going to be a goodly-sized story. In fact, I have some diversionary sections of the story that could make it really big, but they aren't central to the plot, so I'm dithering
on keeping them in.
Either way, I have a self-imposed minimum of writing a thousand words per day with self-editing. So far, I'm ahead of the curve. If all goes well, I'll be able to post at least a chapter
a week. Cross your fingers that by saying this publicly, I haven't doomed myself to failure.
Bowing Out

Cross-posted from LiveJournal
It's been a fun few years communing with Potter fans online from around the world, but it is time I left the stage.
I joined in July-ish of 2003 and before I knew it, spread my wings more than I had ever imagined. I wrote, posted it for thousands of others to read and bit my
figurative nails as I waited for someone to tell me it was good before someone said it was bad. Rejection isn't fun, but I can handle it in appropriate proportion to the "I really liked that"
reviews. Then I latched onto a community and even joined the great group of people running the thing. I reveled in the anticipation of a new book, poured my soul into random bits of fluffy stories
and made quite a few good friends. All throughout, life kept going and I did my best to keep up with both. That time is at an end.
I suppose the beginning of the end was when I realized that I couldn't write everything I wanted to write at the same time. I have literally hundreds of story ideas in various stages of
development and I want to write them all. They each clamor for a bit of my attention like a litter of underfed puppies but I have to give them away and even let some of them die. One day, I'll write
a few of them so that they are complete and I'll post them somewhere. Until then, I'll just keep living live, loving my family, and doing good where I can.
Just so you don't think something terrible has happened, I'll give you a sample of what precipitated this decision.
About a year ago, I moved back to Missouri. It was the best move of my life and part of the reason I'm here is to grow in ways that I couldn't in Utah. I found out about this a little more a few
weeks ago I was asked to serve as an assistant to our congregational leader (we call him a Bishop), but the equivalent in other churches is a pastor. No one is paid to serve in our church, but it is
a huge time demand and I'm already changed because of it.
A little over two weeks ago, our basement bathroom backed up and sewage flooded the carpet in the family room. We had to rip the carpet out and along with it, we decided to remodel most of that
level. I discovered in this experience, that part of my growing process here in Missouri is to put effort into my family and my home. It's not perfect, but it's ours and my wife and I are making it
better a little more each day.
Finally, some of you may remember a few years ago my wife miscarried for the second time in a row. It was devastating for us both. We just found out that after almost three years of trying one more
time, she is pregnant again. I don't know how this one will work out for us, but I know that there is a divine hand in the birth of babies. If the Lord is willing, it will work out for us. Otherwise,
my wife and kids will need me more than ever.
So I'm giving up Harry Potter -- well not completely -- just the online bits. I'll read the books and dabble with my stories from time to time, but I'm going to officially state that my unfinished
stories are abandoned. No work done on them will be posted until they are finished, or handed off to someone else, if at all.
Thank you to everyone who spent time on my stories, reading, editing, reviewing, or in any other way. You helped me change, too.

I'm not dead
Mr. Intel posted on Thursday 1st February 2007 1:09am
Really. I've just been 'hiatusing'. Yeah... that's it.
Since I last updated, I moved across country (which necessitated a job change), changed jobs again (but not because I was looking), had the county where I live declared a federal disaster area, and
acquired two dogs (I thought kids kept me busy!)
Still, I've managed to write a thing or two in the middle of all of that. It's been so long, however, that things aren't flowing quite right. If you don't write very often, I've
discovered, writing becomes very difficult. It took me about three weeks of constant effort to get 500 words down for one story. Of course, I did a load of outlining, too, but I used to
be able to bang out 2,500 words in a day.
With the move also came a change in ISP, and therefore, web hosting. My website for partial chapters and stories that aren't posted anywhere is now: http://geocities.com/mrintel173.
Enjoy!
Happy St. Patty's
Mr. Intel posted on Friday 17th March 2006 5:19am
It's been a while since I updated and St. Patrick's day is as good a reason to post as any. Being Irish by blood and name, but not by birth, I have a soft spot in my heart for his
holiday. That and the fact that my birthday is in the same week....
Writing has taken a back seat to real life over the past few weeks. I've done some writing here and there, but nothing that I can post yet. The First Horcrux is slowly being fleshed out beyone chapter six so that I can keep the characters moving in the right direction.
Currently, chapter six only has a single page written. "Kissing" is still just a fanciful lark that has only a
couple of bullet points for an outline, but it is growing in scope all the time. Chapter two has almost 2,000 words done and I haven't even got Harry and Hermione together. Something
about getting almost 100 reviews for a single chapter made me want to write the next chapter a little more carefully. ;)
On a more somber note, my aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and our family fasted for her last week. She's only 40 and has four boys at home (not counting my Uncle). I get along
really well with their family, but they recently moved to the Atlantic side of the continent, so I don't see them nearly enough. Knowing them, they'll pull through this, but the specter of
cancer is never one that leaves a comfortable feeling in its wake.
Work is smoothing out some, so I should be able to get some more writing time in. However, my wife purchased plans for my next wood
working project, so Saturdays will be taken up in the shop for the forseeable future. Wish me luck. :D
Story Status
Mr. Intel posted on Monday 23rd January 2006 3:28pm
Borrowing from Jeconais' news story, I thought I'd update everyone on the status of my various WIP stories. There are a couple of stories on this list that I don't have up here and that
won't change until they are completed. I'll mark the ones I mean.
The First Horcrux: Chapter three is in beta, chapter four is all but done and chapter five is sketched out. I've got the main plot outlined, with a
couple of scenes in my head for the climax and leading-up scenes. Unfortunately, my biggest weakness as an author is connecting the beginning with the ending. If anyone has some good
pointers for me, I'll gladly take them.
Consequences of the Mind: I've already written most of the ending for this story and did so before HBP came out. As I mentioned, I have the darndest time
connecting the start and the finish. Perhaps some meditating is in order?
Coming of Age: This story isn't posted here and has languished on my hard drive for almost two years. The worst bit? I only have two chapters to go
until it's done. Finding motivation has been a big problem for me with this plot because I've always had other, better stories to write. One day, I'll put the last nails in this
coffin.
The Bargain: Side Effects: I've written the only 'stories' that I planned for this series, but I had the beginnings of an idea to tell what happened on their
honeymoon. I also wanted to write something where they were out of Hogwarts and raising their children. A fight with Moldie-pants would be fun, too, but that's a scene that's over-written
in the fandom.
The Phoenix Reborn: Kokopelli and I started to collaborate on a story a while ago that started with the death
of every Weasely save Molly. Harry collapses into himself while Hermione props up whats left of the wizarding world. Eventually, she needs him and they find each other. Plot
inspiration dwindled and I haven't had any motivation to revisit it yet. This one won't make it to any archive until I have a more solid plot lined-up.
That's it for now. I've finished another one of these, so my nights just opened up again. If the muse is willing,
I will finally get to do some serious writing.
Three new additions
Mr. Intel posted on Monday 9th January 2006 2:53pm
Just adding three one shots that didn't get added when I joined.
As soon as I said that I wasn't actively writing, I was hit by a plot bunny. I don't know if it will linger around long enough to become a story, but I've written an outline for it. More
to come if I can dovetail this outline with another plot that has 10,000 words already written for it.
We'll see!

Hello
Mr. Intel posted on Sunday 8th January 2006 3:06am
After a three month 'sabattacal' away from the fandom, I've decided to post my stories here. This doesn't mean I'm actively writing anything (yet), but I wanted to put my stories here
because it will accept *all* my stories, and because I think the 'no puddles' section needs some more stories.
Jeconais and I go back over a year in the fandom when I reviewed "This Means War" on fanfiction.net. Later, we worked together as Admins at PhoenixSong.net. Now, we both share a desire to
post our stories on a site that doesn't really care about ships as much as good writing. Well, I'm not sure if my stuff qualifies for the latter, but I've written some H/G and some H/Hr that I
enjoy. I hope you will to.
